A group of bandits kidnap a doctor and his daughter as they're on their way to the doctor's new clinic. When they threaten one of the bandits, he accidentally shoots himself in the head and dies. The hostages flee and seek shelter with a bandit leader who helps them by hiding them from other gangs, but has ulterior motives for doing so. This is a story about three people: Captors and captives, predator and prey; each haunted by their pasts, running from death into an uncertain future; yet bound together through circumstance into an extraordinary relationship that will alter all of their lives forever.
Cast: The Guillotines was released on DVD and Blu-ray in South Korea on February 27, 2013 by Illimage Pictures.
Based on the film, a live-action web series was produced which aired back-to-back episodes from September 15 to October 29, 2014. The web series starred Park Seo-joon as Kai Dae-kuk and Cho Jin-woong as Yoo Bom. The web series aired from October 7 to November 21, 2014. The web series was released on DVD on June 2, 2015. It was announced that a Korean adaptation of the film has been greenlit.
